Global Marketing Management Update

29 September 2021

Welcome to the September edition of TrinityP3’s e-news

The Managing Marketing podcast is more than five years old. This week we released the 223rd episode with the new CEO of Leo Burnett, ANZ, Emma Montgomery. The first episode was released on July 11, 2015. It was a conversation with Shawn Callahan, Founder of Anecdote, the business storytelling company. Since then, we have had conversations all around the world – London, New York, Boca Raton, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Zurich and more.

But it took a pandemic to make a couple of major changes to the way we produce the Managing Marketing podcast. The first change – because of lockdowns and working from home – we have moved from recording face-to-face conversations to recording over the internet. When the world opens again, we will continue to record in person, but until then we are using a platform called Riverside-FM, which is brilliant.

The second change has been adding more voices to the TrinityP3 hosting side. While in the past the episodes have been primarily been hosted by the TrinityP3 Founder and global CEO, we have now included more of the TrinityP3 consultants into the mix including Anton Buchner, who has his own podcast outside of the company and David Angell, who for a short time was recording his own podcast titled Media Angles. This has broadened the guests and the topics on the Managing Marketing podcast and added another dimension. We are looking forward to welcoming more of the TrinityP3 consulting team as hosts very soon.

In the meantime, please take a few minutes to check out Managing Marketing and consider adding it to your regular podcasting mix. And if you like what you hear, please give us a recommendation. Thank you.

Now 223 reasons to listen and subscribe

Back in April 2019 (remember back then, pre-pandemic?) we hit the magic 100 episodes. Today we are more than double that, at 223 episodes and more than 60,000 downloads. But even though this post is just over two years old, it goes a long way to explain why we started the Managing Marketing podcast and gives you insights into the first one hundred guests and the topics we covered.

One thing that has not changed is the conversational nature of the format. Rather than being an interview, it really is like two people sitting down to have a chat, discuss the issues or talk about the challenges and opportunities facing media, marketing and advertising. You can read more about those first 100 episodes here .

Heard the podcast? Now read the books

At TrinityP3 we are inspired by the power of marketing and media to change cultures, change behaviours, change perceptions – to change the world. But too often, the potential of marketing goes unrealised due to confused objectives, a shortage of resources, and a thousand other obstacles.

Back in mid-2015, when I was considering starting a podcast, I decided the topic was to be how to manage the marketing process to achieve the full potential that marketing delivers. The idea was to have the kinds of conversations that we rarely get the time to have, about the possibilities offered by marketing, and the many challenges facing marketing, media and advertising today.

The popularity of the Managing Marketing podcast is testament to the quality of the conversations we are having on marketing and media. In January 2020 we launched the first book of those conversations to acknowledge TrinityP3’s 20th year in business and to celebrate those marketers and advertising professionals who contribute to making marketing great. The follow year we published the second in the series focusing on media.

You can buy both books and listen along to all the podcast conversations here .
